88 Year Old WWII Vet Beaten to Death in Washington.

Wednesday, Delbert Belton, an 88-year-old World War II vet was standing outside of the Eagle Lodge, his favorite place of choice to play pool while waiting on a friend, so he didn’t have to go home alone when two teens  in an act of robbery assault him and left him for dead.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday said the cause of the death was blunt facial and head injuries.

Police said there was no evidence that the teens knew Belton prior to the vicious attack.  One of the suspects have been arrested and charged with first degree robbery along with first degree murder, but the other still remains at large.

Belton was a retired aluminum company worker who served in the Pacific took a bullet in the leg during the Battle of Okinawa.

This is the most senseless of senseless crimes. Cowardly to boot. I hope both of these vicious criminals get punished to fullest extent of the law.
