A Montana woman named Jordan Linn Graham made her first appearance in court as she faces a charge of second degree murder after allegedly pushing Cody Johnson, her husband of only about a week, off a cliff during an argument.
If convicted, she faces life in prison.
CNN said that Graham told a friend she was having second thoughts.
The criminal complaint sated that the couple argued on the July 7 and decided to go hiking at Glacier National Park in Flathead County, Montana, but they just continued to argue. Johnson grabbed Graham’s arm, but she snatched it away.
The criminal complaint also said Graham ” stated she could have just walked away, but due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff.”
The complaint contained text messages between Graham and a friend of hers as well:
Graham: Oh well, I’m about to talk to him.
Friend: I’ll pray for you guys.
Graham: But dead serious if u don’t hear from me at all again tonight, something happened.
It is also said that Graham didn’t report the death and it went unnoticed until Johnson never returned to work.
