During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, former VP candidate and former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin sat down to talk religion, how and when she found it, and also what she thought of Pope Francis.
When Tapper asked what she thought of the pope, Palin admitted that she only knows what she’s heard from him through the media and she’s doesn’t want to trust their interpretation, but what’s she’s heard so far makes her a little wary of the pope’s ideology:
I’m kind of trying to follow what his agenda is. I’m surprised that he came out with a couple of things in the media, but then again, I’m not one to trust the media’s interpretation of somebody’s message. But having read through media outlets that – he’s had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me, but unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media.
UPDATE: Sarah Palin apologizes for her comments and blames the media.
So, quoting her word for word is considered “ginning up controversy” now. Got it.
